What is the definition of breast cancer?
Breast cancer is diseases whose cancerous cells are develop in the tissues of the breast. The mammary gland is composed of several clusters of lobes and lobules connected by a thin tubes as a branch of a tree. Breast cancer developed in ducts is more common. Other type of breast cancer is the lobular carcinoma.

What are the possible caused of breast cancer?
There is a familial predisposition is transmitted through the genes (on chromosomes). It is nearly 5% to 10% of all cancer cases are hereditary. Other transmission factor that predisposes to breast cancer is the use of hormonal contraceptives.

What is the possible diagnosis of breast cancer?

The most effective prevention of breast cancer is early detection and thus it is highly recommended to get the breast examined on a regular basis. Particularly in cases when a person feels that there is something wrong in the breasts. Moreover, from age of 50 years and before if there are predisposing factors, periodic examinations should be performed (every two years) called mammography. This scanning detects small tumors that may go unnoticed in the self-examination

Appearance of a suspicious nodule calls for the biopsy. The process of Biopsy involves taking a small piece of the nodule form the affected area followed by a microscopic analysis to confirm the presence of cancer cells. Normally, the sampling is performed through a needle inserted into the breast tissue and the sample is collected by aspiration of the suspicious tissue.

If the scan finds cancer cells then other studies need to be carried out to identify the sensitivity of these cells with the female hormones (estrogen and progestin). According to the sensitivity to these hormones doctors can draw conclusions about the proper treatment procedure. The growth hormones used for treatment are used differently depending on the response to female hormones in cancer. The likelihood of recurrence is different in some cases than others. The cure of breast cancer depends on the stage in which the cancer has been detected and general health of the person concerned.
