Asbestos:
Asbestos is a mineral that has a property of not getting burned under fire. It has been used as fire insulation material in industries since ages. But recently medical fraternity has declared asbestos as extremely hazardous material affecting lung cancer among humans. Asbestos has also been extensively used as construction material all across the world. Asbestos is still used in Asia, Africa and South America till date, but in Europe and North America asbestos has been banned to be used as construction material or even for heat insulation. During manufacturing of asbestos sheets in work shops, workers and nearby population is exposed to high quantity of asbestos fibers. These fibers are so fine that it gets inhaled through air and gets accumulated in lungs. When people are exposed to such fibers for a prolonged period of time ranging form years to decades, huge quantity of asbestos gets accumulated in the lungs. The disease caused by asbestos is called as asbestosis. Common use of asbestos includes small fittings for pipes; asbestos is also used extensively for shipbuilding and for other construction industries. Asbestos also find its utility in the manufacturing of heat insulating blankets, fire safety clothes, gas masks. Asbestos has also find use in the ceramic industry in the manufacturing of ceramic tiles. Harmful affects of asbestos is mainly felt in the lungs in the form of lung cancer. If people are exposed for a prolonged period of time to asbestos fibers first symptoms of lung cancer can be seen. The breathing becomes heavy and in advanced stages of cancer the process of breathing is so laborious that due to lack of oxygen patients have lost their life. In the initial stages of lung cancer, the victim may suffer only because of dry cough and small chest congestion. But in the advance stages of lung cancer coughing blood and severe chest pain are common symptoms. Severe case of lung cancer due to extensive exposure to asbestos is called as mesothelioma. Due to asbestos the inner lining of lungs and abdomen gets affected. Asbestos fibers inhaled by people while breathing is carcinogenic. The reason for the asbestos being so lethal for human health is because asbestos fibers interfere with the segregation of chromosomes. In long run asbestos fibers has tendency of damaging the total immune system of human body.

Tobacco:
Tobacco is generally consumed by majority of population. Intake of tobacco is generally done by people in the form of cigarette smoking and chewing tobacco. Tobacco directly affects lungs and esophagus and kidney of human being consuming tobacco. Smoking is considered as worst form of tobacco intake because it also leads to passive smoking. People who actually do not smoke but often comes in contact of smoking people are the victims of passive smoking. People who do not smoke but are victims of passive smoking suffer the most. If a family member is a cigarette smoker so during any small or big family gathering, members get exposed to the wrath of cigarette smokes ultimately leading to worst possible consequences.

Conclusion
To conclude, out of the above two causes of lung cancer discussed above, asbestos is for sure the deadliest thing to be avoided in all circumstances. But majority of people suffering form lung cancer is affected by cigarette smoking. Out of total world population number of people exposed to asbestos is comparatively less than the smoking fraternity. Hence we can say that though asbestos is more lethal than tobacco for lung cancer. As more people gets exposed to tobacco than asbestos fibers hence the percentage of people suffering form lung cancer is due to tobacco smoking and chewing.
