The lungs play a very significant role in the respiratory functions of human body. Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. There are many different symptoms of lung cancer that may help in detecting the presence and development of lung cancer. In case of the diagnoses of the lung cancer, your doctor may ask you to go through different types of tests. The common lung cancer diagnosis tests include x-ray, sputum test, CT scans and biopsies. There are many people who think that to cure lung cancer is really difficult, but according to the reports obtained, it has been found that it is easier to cure this form of cancer. The most common and the most preferable forms of cancer are chemotherapy and radiotherapy that have shown the maximum successful results. However, in order to make these treatments successful there is a need to detect its presence as earlier as possible.

In case of lung cancer, it has been found that the doctor suggests the use of the combination of both the therapies to cure lung cancer properly and completely without any sign of reappearance. There are some cases when it has been found that the doctors prefer surgery to cure lung cancer over radiation therapy, mainly in cases where the cancer has not spread beyond the lungs of the patient. However, these treatments are quite costly. However, if one wants to be prevented from the lung cancer, the first thing that he needs to do is to quit smoking. Lung cancer is also caused by a malfunction in the cells of the body that grow uncontrollably.

The lung cancer is also among the metastatic cancer that originates in the lungs but may be due to the presence of other cancerous cells in other parts of the body. There are several steps that are engaged in the assessment of the treatments related to the lung cancer. In order to cure lung cancer, the very first thing that one needs to do is to diagnose the presence of the cancer properly and find out whether the cancer is malignant. The first step in assessing treatment is to positively diagnose cancer; in other words that the tumor is malignant. There are a variety of tests which can be carried out, and there are usually a range of tests rather any one single diagnostic test which is utilized. The post-diagnosis methods are also present that involves a process known as "staging". This is the ultimate stage where the seriousness of the disease is assessed accurately. This is the step, therefore, that helps the medical team to determine the proper treatment regime for the patient.

The methods of chemotherapy and radiation are used in later stages of cancer for the removal of the cancerous cells from the region where it occurs and spreads. These are the means of treatment that are non-invasive and they are concerned with the reduction of the size and its removal. There are surgical treatments that may involve a major operation to open the chest cavity to gain access to the lungs and affected parts of the body. The techniques such as VATS that make small incisions into the side or may rear the chest in order to insert specialist video capture equipment that may provide a highly detailed image on a video screen. One more among these techniques is the Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT). This treatment works by giving a small dose of insulin to the patient that in turn induces a state of low blood sugar and when the patient seems or feels weak, he is given the lung cancer chemotherapy drug.
