Prevention of Cervical Cancer by Vaccination

Each year it has been identified that approximately 6000 women in different parts of Europe suffers from cervical cancer. This form of cancer (cervical) affects women of all ages, but most common is among women aged between 30 to 60 years of age. Therefore, for women of this age it is very important for have a facility of organized screening in hospitals, clinics etc.

Organized screening for whom?
All women aged between 30 to 60 years of age shall receive once every five years an invitation from the screening organization for screening cervical cancer. This research is aimed to detect cervical cancer at the earliest possible stage making it easier for patients to recover form the wrath of cancer. Early detection greatly increases the chance of cure. Women in whom an abnormality is found early, often have no symptoms, therefore the research is important. The personal invitation from the Municipal Administration (GBA) to come for screening is the best solution. Once a woman registers in a municipality, the personal information contained in the records are scanned by the computers and periodic screening calls are generated. The screening organization may use such data for the personal invitation to specific people as well.

The study of cervical cancer is important
The research is through a Pap smear in general practice. Pap smear test is screening test for a possible detection of cervical cancer. Pap smear test is used by gynecologists to detect cancerous cells in cervix region of women. This is usually made by the assistant of the GP. The making of a smear screening for cervical cancer for all women who are invited by Municipal Corporation is free. You must fill up a laboratory form, together with the invitation letter and carry it to your gynecologist for further diagnosis if required.

Planning
In the coming months, those women who were born between the years 1960, 1985 and 1965 were invited by the Municipal Corporation for the screening tests of cervical cancer. But even if you have not received the screening call you can still visit your GP for the pap smear test. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Vaccination Program fro cervical cancer
Parents and girls also get invitation HPV vaccination program each year. Women and girls who have not used the facility during earlier calls are invited gain till they exercise the required vaccination. HPV is short form for "human papillomavirus", Many people walk into the virus unknowingly but they do not get sick immediately. But it sometimes creates a precursor of cervical cancer. Two dangerous strains of avian influenza cause up to 70% of all cases of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a serious disease that annually effects about 6000 women. Every year, nearly 2000 women deaths are caused due to cervical cancer. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus. Fortunately, girls can protect themselves before they start sex-by vaccination with the HPV vaccine. The vaccination consists of three injections. For the vaccine to work best, there is time between shots is required. The injections are given in the upper arm. Health Services carry out the vaccinations. Many women who suffer form cervical cancer come into notice during inspection and screening of the rural population. Women younger than 30 years often get detected by coincidence, or when they are complaining to their doctor. 1 in 3 women with cervical cancer dies of the disease. What many people do not know that cervical cancer is caused by a virus, the human pappiloma virus. Today, young women can be vaccinated against this virus. Vaccination against HPV has come as a gods gift for all women.
