The colon/ rectal cancer have been found to be developing in many cases and hence the scientists have engaged themselves in finding out the proper treatment for the disease of colon/ rectal cancer. This cancer starts developing in the large intestine that is also known as colon or rectal. In this case, however, it has been seen that the dead cells build up and form a lump that gradually leads to this form of cancer. However, according to the reports about this form of cancer, it has been observed that the cause of the colorectal cancer can also depend on genetic history that means if the parents and other blood relatives have cancer. The condition of the colorectal cancer patients seems to be worsening if the food that is taken in by the patients is not nutritious that may include fast foods, processed foods and junk foods. There are, however, several steps that can help the people to prevent the colon/ rectal cancer.

The signs or symptoms that are observed during the appearance of the colorectal cancer include abnormal bowel movements like diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, blood in the stools, anemia, severe weight loss and intestinal problems. In order to prevent the development of the colon/ rectal cancer, the people must practice good habits. The colon cancer develops in the human body even before it shows its signs or symptoms. Thus regular exercises, good eating habits, etc are the most important things that must be practiced in order to avoid the development of such cancer. The diets having high fat content, red meats and few fibers must be avoided to be prevented from the colon/ rectal disease. This is because it has been observed that the lumps of dead cells develop from the fat mounted up on the intestinal walls as well as the rectum. The people must take healthy foods to be prevented from this form of cancer including lot of fruits, vegetables and water.

The second most important thing to be taken into consideration in this case is to familiarize yourself with the medical history of your family. This is because one may develop cancer as a result of the previous cases of cancer in the genetics. These minute things to be considered also include quitting smoking habits. The next thing to be kept in mind is to prevent radiation exposure. This is because dangerous radiation rays can create abnormality in healthy normal cells. However, it has also been observed that this is one of the most common reasons for the development of the colon/ rectal cancer. The next cause also includes colon cleansing to wash out the toxins that have increased causing skin allergies and weak immune system, etc.

The natural treatments that are available for the patients include strong immune system. However, other alternative treatments for colon/ rectal cancer are surgery. In case of this surgery, it has been observed that the adjacent lymph nodes, the tumor, a small margin of the surrounding healthy bowel, are removed. The colon is responsible in the digestive functioning of the human body. If the cancer develops in this part, it affects the whole digestive process of the human body that in turn throws a negative impact on the overall digestive process. The colon is the hub where wastes are removed promptly out of our body, thus it plays very important role in the overall functioning of the human activities.

The best treatment for stage zero colon/ rectal cancer is local excision or a simple polypectomy. In this process, if the tumour is too big and cannot be removed by excision, them resection or anastomosis will be opted. In case of stage 1, the similar process is adopted for treatment. While in other stages that is stage 2 and 3 along with resection or anastomosis, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or monoclonal antibody therapy after surgery can also be beneficial. In case of stage 4, all these colon/ rectal cancer treatments are beneficial and if needed a surgery can also be adopted to treat the overall disease.
