Lung Cancer is considered to be one of the most complicated forms of cancer that is in very rare case gets cured using conventional medicinal treatments. In many cases, it has been observed that the maximum people suffering from this disease have non-small cell type of lung cancer. There are researches that are still being undertaken in order to cure this form of cancer. There are four stages of lung cancer based on which the effects of treatment on the person can be determined. As far as the first stage or the Stage 1 is concerned, the patients do not show any specific symptoms and as this is early stage, this disease can be cured with primary surgical excision. During this stage of lung cancer, the tumors are mostly found at the time of chest radiograph that is carried out on a routine basis. In addition to this, it may be included that with the technological enhancement, the tumors are now detected with the help of computed tomography (CT).

In case of the second stage or Stage II of lung cancer, the patients with T1-2N1 come into focus as a small subset found in the spectrum of this disease. This small spectrum, however, usually consists of less than 10% of patients who prefer coming for surgery. According to the reports that has been obtained in case of the survivals related to the patients during this stage of lung cancer is about 50-60 percent. The next stage of lung cancer is the Stage III. CT scan or computed tomography is the technology that is used for the detection of this stage of lung cancer. The patients are suggested to prefer treatments of complete resection through lobectomy in this case along with mediastinal lymph node dissection. This type of treatment is really very beneficial in case of the patients with left upper lobe tumors. However, the survival percentage or rate of the patients during this stage of the disease is approximately about 20 percent.

The stage IV of lung cancer can be cured through surgery, but this treatment is only confined to young aged patients or healthy patients. As far as the effect of the treatment is concerned in this case, it has been observed that even if the disease is not completely cured, at least the survival period of the patients gets prolonged. The main causes of lung cancer are very minute things but play a very significant role in development of complicated lung cancer. Some of these minute to see things include air pollutants, secondhand smoke, cigarette smoking, etc that contribute highly in the development of this form as well as other forms of cancer.

There are some specific signs and symptoms that may prove to be helpful in detecting the emergence or development of lung cancer in humans. The early detection signs of this disease include constant coughing, hacking, breath shortening, wheezing, regular chest pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, pneumonia, etc. However, the most common symptom of lung cancer is the coughing of blood that is also termed as haemoptysis. There are some of the secondary signs and symptoms that almost confirm the presence of lung cancer. These signs for detecting lung cancer include weakness, difficulty while swallowing, high fever, changes in features on face, and many more. Thus, if you experience any such changes or signs then, you are suggested to consult a doctor as immediately as possible. Once the lung cancer is detected in earlier stages, the chances of your survival get enhanced. If you are late, it may make your survival very difficult by reducing your chances of effective treatments.
