Cervical cancer occurs on the surface of the cervix cells that are present in the pelvic area. This cancer is also identified as the type of uterine cancer with slow growth and malignant feature that means it has the ability to spread. The cervix is the lower strong muscle part of the uterus that connects the uterus to the birth canal. However, in case of the cervical cancer, it has been observed that there are two kinds of cancerous cells that are found to be present in this case. One among these cells is the squamous cell carcinomas where about eighty to ninety percent of all forms of cervical cancers originate. The other one is the Adenocarcinomas where about 10 percent to 20 percent of cervical cancers begin. The occurrence of the cervical cancer is observed mainly in cases of the younger women who are sexually active.

The cervical cancer is usually caused by the Human Papillomavirus that is also referred as HPV. This is the virus that spreads through sexual contacts and survives in the body for years in order to cause cancer. However, in several cases, it has been observed that the cancer never forms even if the HPV virus is present. According to the recent reports, it has been found that a new vaccine has been introduced against the HPV virus that there will be a huge decrease in cases of cervical cancer by the year 2022. The initial common symptoms of cervical cancer can include heavy bleeding while menstruating or after menopause, vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, bleeding after intercourse, etc. The cases of cervical cancer are common among the young girls who become sexually active before attaining the age of eighteen, or the girls who have more than one partners, etc.

The people who possess the sexually transmitted disease that is STD are more likely to develop this cancer disease. In fact, the cervical cancer cases are common among them who smoke, use condoms, contraceptive pills, etc. The immune system of a person must be healthy and good as it helps the person to fight against the cervical or other cancer cells. Therefore, a person with weak immune system is at higher risk of being affected by this type of cancer. The HPV virus can cause abnormalities in the cells in the cervix, as a result of which the lesions are formed, if left untreated lead to the initial sign of cervical cancer. However, there are several signs and symptoms that help the people to detect the cervical cancer. Some of these important signs of the disease include the pain in the pelvis area, discharge of vagina that is really very unusual, bleeding after sexual intercourse, and heavy bleeding during menstruation period.

These are some of the minutest signs that are required to be noticed carefully for early detection of the cervical cancer for its proper cure. Apart from this, the suspected person may suffer from increased frequency in urination, and pain during sexual intercourse. There are several methods that help in the proper detection of the cervical cancer; one among them is the one through the usage of small fiber optic. This is the new way of detecting the development of the cervical cancer with the higher degree of efficiency and accuracy. The use of this method reduces the use of the biopsy that may not be required in these cases. Thus, these are some of the procedures through which the cervical cancer may be detected earlier easily that can ultimately help the patients to get it cured as soon as possible.
